What Is The Name Of This Garden Tool?

It’s the hand-held, people-powered version of a “weed whacker”…my family had a couple when I was a kid, and I can’t seem to find the right search term for them…or maybe they don’t exist anymore. Anyways, hopefully the following image helps. The bottom part is serrated.http://iowa-raves.com/images/weedwhacker…

I believe the name of that implement is called a “Grass Whip”.

Kapri has the correct answer. Another version of what you’re talking about is a weed cutter. I have one of these I clear the tree line with. I call mine a weed whacker too even though technically it is called a weed cutter. Everyone has to be so politically correct I can’t stand it – it’s a weed whacker to me.http://www.lowes.com/lowes/lkn?action=pr…

A similar item sold in the UK is known as a “Swoe”.Manufactured by Wilkinson, the trade name derives from sword and hoe.

It is indeed a weed whip and is still made by Ames True Temper. You can buy them in most garden and hardware stores.
