What Kind Of Specific Choices Does A New Homeowner Make When Buying A New Construction Home?
I might be buying a brand new house, and just wondering what the choices are for your new home: like, what kind of cabinets, countertops, hard wood floor, carpet, color of the shutters/door, hardware, door handels, jacuzzi tub, and anything else…
If you also know about how much more a month for upgrades, that would be great!

You have all he choices if you have hired somwone to build. If you buying a new construction in a new housing development, choices become less as they are pumped out fairly quick.
i’m confused.if the house is all ready built you buy it as is.if you are contracting to build a house then you can have whatever you can afford.
A Jacuzzi is a bonus and can often sell a house.
If you decide to build, remember:
Closet space, closet space, closet space, and closet space.
Congratulations!
EDIT: You will probably pick out the cabinetry, hardware, paint colors, carpet, basically everything you listed. Your builder should provide you with a list of what you need to choose. As far as how much for the upgrades, that all depends on what you pick out. For example, kitchen cabinets can range from $8,000 to $20,000 or more. It all depends on what you want. Be careful though, it all starts to add up. You may want to make a grand total limit of how much you want to spend before you start selecting what you want and go from there.
At that stage of construction the choices are almost all yours. Within budget constraints, you can pick counter-tops, kitchen appliances, wall colors and whether to paint or paper, what use of wood, tile, or vinyl or laminate flooring. The choices are almost endless. That would be a wonderful opportunity to actually make the house”yours” from the beginning.
The contractor has paper work on the upgrades available and the price. When you go to the office of a new subdivision you can get that paperwork and the styles of houses they offer. You can choose different cabinets, fireplaces, fireplace fronts, two sinks, garden tubs, bay windows, garden windows, plant shelf ledges, valted ceilings, finished basements, rough-in basement plumbing, ect… The style of the home will determine what they offer. The costs do add up quick! Pick what is most important to you and do some of the work yourself. I can’t give you prices because different areas will determine this. When we were looking 6 months ago I believe they wanted $3,500 to add on a fireplace(St. Louis). I am very picky so we paid the same for an older home with lots more land and a pool. I can redo and decorate it any way I want since it was old and outdated.
